Making of Killing Birds

The house featured in the beginning of the film is the same used in The Beyond (1981).

Just like “After Death” (1989) a.k.a “Zombie 4”, which has no connection with its predecessor, “Killing Birds” (which has no connection to “Zombie 3” or “Zombie 4”) was released as “Zombie 5” in various countries only to capitalize on the success of “Zombie 3” (1987).

Killing birdsAlthough the direction is credited to Claudio Lattanzi, various sources claim that Joe D’Amato, the movie’s producer and cinematographer, was the one who actually directed the movie.

Our view on Killing Birds

Killing Birds is one of the less known movies of Italian exploitation-movie veteran Joe D`Amato. Maybe not as sick as his masterpieces “Buio Omega” or “Emanuelle in America”, but still creepy and full of horror. The film could be seen as a mixture of John Carpenter´s  The Fog and Lucio Fulci‘s City of the living Dead. HeadsmashRobert Vaughn plays a blind and mysterious scientist is the and it turns into a Zombie flic! Exploitflix so bad it‘s good flic.
