Bloody Birthday (1981)
Bloody Birthday is an American slasher film from 1981 directed by Ed Hunt. Starring Susan Strasberg, José Ferrer, and Lori Lethin.
Plot
In 1970, three children are born at the height of a total eclipse. 
The sun and and moon blocked out Saturn, and since that controls emotions, 10 years later all three children have become heartless killers and are able to escape detection because of their youthful, innocent facades. 
A boy and his teenage sister become endangered when they stumble onto the bloody truth.

Beverly(Julie Brown) does a strip tease nude scene as her little sister and the killers watch her undress thru a peep hole.
Making of Bloody Birthday
Despite popular belief that the film was shelved for five years after being shot, it has been confirmed that it was shot in early 1980 and released the following year.
Star Lori Lethin said that the mood during shooting Bloody Birthday was actually quite light hearted, despite the film’s disturbing content. Her young co-stars were often laughing between takes during production.
According to director Ed Hunt, the murder sequences were originally shot to be more graphic, but the stronger footage was edited out of the final cut.
The house depicted in the films colorful German poster is the same house from the mini-series Salem’s Lot (1979).

The film’s young actors were not allowed to work past a certain time in the evening, which was sometimes problematic. On one occasion the children had to be pulled out in the middle of the shooting of one night scene, much to the producer’s dismay.
An early title for the movie was Happy Birthday, but the title was changed to avoid confusion with the 1980 slasher movie Happy Birthday to Me (1981) which was released the following month.
Director/writer Ed Hunt came up with the angle of the children being evil because of their birth during an eclipse after reading an article about astrology. The article claimed that astrology influenced the deaths of presidents sitting in office every 20 years; which the character of Joyce mentions later in the film.
The films French title is Les Tueurs de l’éclipse, meaning “The Killers of the Eclipse” and its German release title was Kinder des Teufels, meaning “Children of the Devil.
Our view on Bloody Birthday
Bloody Birthday is not your typical 80’s slasher. Ok it has gore, blood, and deaths and a few nudity scenes from horny teens. But the killers and victims are not that obvious. 10 years after 3 kids were born at a moon eclipse, they start to work together in murdering adults in good old California.
