Deathstalker II (1987)
Deathstalker II, aka Deathstalker II: Duel of the Titans, Argentine-American fantasy comedy-adventure made in 1987 directed by Jim Wynorski director of cult classics like Chopping Mall. It is a sequel to 1983’s Deathstalker also a great exploitflix recommendation. The film stars John Terlesky, Monique Gabrielle, John LaZar and María Socas.
Plot Deathstalker II
When princess Evie of the Jzafir kingdom is possessed by the sorcerer Jerak he creates an evil clone of Evie. Through the clone, Jerak and his voluptuous and dangerous ally, Sultana, rule over Jzafir. Evie escapes Jerak’s control, and posing as a queen named Reena the Seer she gets help of the renowned hero Deathstalker. Together they fight against the forces of evil to take back her kingdom.

Making of Deathstalker II
For the bar scene a small amount of footage is reused from the original Deathstalker (1983)
Music from Jim Wynorski’s 1986 film Chopping Mall are reused for this film.
John Terlesky and Toni Naples did their own swordfighting in the major sword fight confrontation.
Professional wrestlers from the World Federation of Argentina Wrestling were acting in the wrestle scenes. John Terlesky did his own fighting in the wrestling match with Gorgo.
The outfit that princess Evie wears was also worn by Lana Clarksons character Kaira in the first Deathstalker movie, Clarkson was later tragicaly killed.
The zombies in the cemetery were played by locals.
During the ending credits, Wynorski included outtakes from scenes with nude actresses. One features a topless Monique Gabrielle dancing seductively on an applecrate.
Our view on Deathstalker II
We regard this as one of the better is Deathstalker movies. John Terlesky is funny as Deathstalker and the acting is tongue in cheek. You have to like that style but we like it here.
Monique Gabrielle takes her parts seriously, and it’s just as well. She provides the main set of on-screen boobs. It wouldn’t be a exploit sword-and-sorcery flick without them.
