Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS (1975)
Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS is a 1975 Canadian exploitation film about a sadistic female Nazi prison camp commandant. The film is directed by American filmmaker Don Edmonds. The film stars Dyanne Thorne. The story is loosely based on Ilse Koch, the wife of a real-life commandant at the Buchenwald concentration camp.
Plot
Europe, 1945. Ilsa (Dyanne Thorne) is Kommandant of a Nazi prison camp. She conducts sadistic scientific experiments designed to demonstrate that women are more capable of enduring pain than men are and should therefore be allowed to fight in the German armed forces. Ilsa has great sexual appetite for men, choosing a new male prisoner each night.

The movie was filmed on the set of Hogan’s Heroes (1965). The set was given over to save the cost of demolition.

The film was twice rejected for a UK cinema certificate by the BBFC.
Based on the life of Ilse Koch (“known as “The Bitch of Buchenwald”), the wife of the SS commandant of the Nazi extermination camps of Buchenwald and Majdanek during World War II.
To play Ilsa, the creative team found Dyanne Thorne, an actress who had worked with the legendary teacher Stella Adler.
The 2007 film Grindhouse features a faux-trailer for a film called Werewolf Women of the S.S. by Rob Zombie, whose characters have been referred to as resembling Ilsa.

ILSA – SHE WOLF OF THE SS is the first in the “infamous” series of exploitation films featuring the recently passed away Dyanne Thorne.
